The standard requirement to study Bachelor and integrated study programes is the completion of a four-year high school education and passing the entrance exam. Specific admission pre-requisites usually entail the specific knowledge in certain disciplines and should be checked for the particular program a student is interested in. Entrance exams are usually held in early July and early September (for the institutions which still have open places for students). Note that the ranking of applicants for admissions would depend on both the entrance exam and the success from their previous level of education.

Language of Instruction
The principal language of instruction is Serbian for all educational levels. There are also study programs which are accredited in foreign languages, mostly in English, and in many universities and colleges there are additional possibilities for foreign exchange students, such as organizing consultations with professors in English, etc.
Studies of Serbian residents at public institutions (both universities and colleges) can either be financed by the State or the students pay tuition for their studies. Students who study at private higher education institutions pay fees as determined by the higher education institution.
Foreign students pay tuition for their studies and in some cases there is a difference between the fee amount paid by local and foreign students.
The tuition fee is determined by the institution and is usually within a range from EUR500 to EUR2500 per year.
