Study on Low Tuition in Luxembourg: Admission Requirements, Application Deadlines, Tuition Fees and How to Apply

Did you know that French, German and Luxembourgish are the official languages of Luxembourg? No cause for alarm-you can still study on low tuition in Luxembourg in English. Generally, courses at higher education in Luxembourg is conducted in English and any of the official languages of Luxembourg, which allows international students the opportunity to become fluent in several languages while earning a university degree. Luxembourg, a founding member of the European Union, hosts some of Europe’s most important institutions, such as the European Court of Justice or the European Investment Bank.

Admission Requirements


If applicants have successfully completed their secondary studies, and are in possession of a valid school leaving certificate and qualify for higher education studies in their own home country, then they may also qualify for higher education studies in Luxembourg. However, you are requested to prove your level of English, French, German or Luxembourgish depending on the study program you have applied for. In some cases, you are also requested to take additional qualifying courses.

If you are applying for a master’s program at university in Luxembourg, you are required to be in possession of a relevant bachelor’s or equivalent degree diploma.

Application deadlines in Luxembourg

Generally, there are two main application periods: :

From January to February for studies in the summer semester (from February to June)

From July to September for studies in the winter semester (from September to January)

How to Apply

Applicants can submit their application materials and documents  online for studies at undergraduate and graduate level at university in Luxembourg.Once your application has been processed, you will receive a notification on whether you have been admitted to the study program you applied for.

Tuition Fees

Students don’t have to pay tuition fees for the majority of study programs at higher education in Luxembourg, with the exception of a few specific courses, with tuition fees starting at about 600 EUR per semester. However, students have to pay a small registration fee of 100 EUR per semester.
