How to Apply

Universities in Greece offer both Master’s and Bachelor’s programs in different programs. And each university has a particular method of application but below are general methods of application that apply to most of these universities:

*Applicants must submit all application materials to the Hellenic ministry of national education and religious affairs(for undergraduate programs)

*The following documents will be required for application:

-Original graduate certificate

-Certificate from diplomatic authority in the home country of eligibility to higher studies.

-Certificate of origin(parents and applicants)

-Visa or stay permit.

-Applicants who are applying for postgraduate programs should submit their applications directly to the institution.

-The candidate should send proof of successful high school completion in their home country.

-Since most of the programs offered are in Greek language, the applicant must show proof of proficiency in greek.

For doctoral programs, applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.

Private institutions that offer courses in english, also require proof of proficiency in english and standardized tests such as TOEFL or IETLS.

For an international student from a non EU country, a type D visa is required from a greek consulate and this can be easier and cheaper if the visa is requested for the applicant by the institution. The documents requested for obtaining a visa are:passport, sponsorship affidavit, proof of funds, medical and police reports,clearance certificate, academic transcript,language certificate, and document from the institution of choice in Greece.

Application Deadline

The enrolment period in Greek universities starts from early July to the third week in July.The online platform will be available at around this time. The duration of study in Greece is 4 years for most undergraduate programs and 6 for postgraduates.

Cost of Living in Greece

Greece offers programs at zero tuition for students from EU countries and some institutions offer free meals and housing options that are comparatively cheap and affordable.Also medical care is taken care of at some universities, and although  international students are required to pay a fee for a program they are taking, it is still very affordable.
