Low Tuition Universities in Estonia

Today I will be focusing on yet another country where you can study in an affordable rate. In this country, tuition fees range from 800 Euros to 6000 Euros per year for both Bachelors and Masters Programs. At this point, you might want to know this country.  Well, we are talking about Estonia. Estonia is a sovereign state in Northern Ireland, bordered to the North by the Gulf of Finland, with Finland on the other side. Across the Baltic Sea lies Sweden in the West and Finland in the North.

Estonia is  very popular study abroad destination because of the variety of programs available plus low cost of tuition and living expenses.  I have compiled a list of some low tuition universities in Estonia. Please find below a list of low tuition universities in Estonia with Degree Programs in English:

      (1) Estonia Academy of Music and Theatre:

This is the only public university in Estonia offering education degrees in music and drama. The school is located in the centre of Tallinn.Vocalists, Instrumentalists, composers, music teachers and engineers are also trained in bachelors programs. On the Masters side, the curriculum taught includes:accompaniment class, contemporary improvisation and cultural management.The major research areas at the EAMTe are musicology, theatre, music interpretation and cultural management.Note that research topics are usually related to music and theatre in one way or the other.

Tuition Fees

Music BA/MA levels for international students (non EU students) would go for 6,000 Euros per year.

       (2) Tallinn University

This is a public research university in Estonia.It is based in the centre of Talinn.It is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in the country.The largest university of humanities in Tallinn and the third biggest public university in Estonia. It is popularly locally and internationally for its role as a centre for science and technology.

Tuition Fees

Bachelor’s degrees ranges from 1500-4322 EUR per year.

Masters degrees ranges from 830-4500 EUR per year.

(3)  The Estonian Academy of Arts

Established sometime in 1914,it is the only public university in Estonia offering tertiary education in fine arts, design, architecture, media, visual studies, cultural heritage and conservation. It is currently located in Tallinn. It is an active study and research institution and the foremost leading institution in innovation in visual  culture. Note that the EEA offers five masters programs taught in english: Design and craft, animation,interaction design, interior architecture,textile design and fashion design.

Tuition Fees

Masters programs range between EUR 1,500-6,000.

     (4) Tallinn University of Technology(TTU)

This is a public university in Estonia founded in 1998.TTU is the oldest and largest public university in Estonia.Did you know that 35% of international students studying in Estonia study at TTU? TTU is also the flagship of Estonian Engineering and Technology education where connections and synergy between technology education and other fields are created and new ideas are born. With strong emphasis on internalization. There are well over  30 fully accredited international degree programs fully available in english.

     (5) The University of Tartu

This is a classical example of a top class university in the city of Tartu.Yes, it is the national university of Estonia, also the biggest and most prestigious. It is the largest and most prestigious university in Estonia founded in 1632.

UT is popular for its research based education. Averagely, the university awards over 100 PhD degrees and university researchers publish 3,000 scientific articles annually. UT is also in the top 1% of the world’s most cited universities and scientific institutions in the fields of Chemistry, Ecology, Environment Molecular Biology etc.

UT offers international degrees, semester and summer programs with instruction in english and each year sees an increase in international students. Currently there are 23 international study programs available in english, including business administration,medicine and software engineering.

       (6) Estonian Business School

This is a private higher education institution located in Tallinn, Estonia.EBS offers business related higher education in bachelor, master and doctoral levels.EPS is the oldest privately owned  business university based in Tallinn.

The Tuition Fees for Non EU Students:

-Tuition Fees for first study  year (2 semesters) is 4400 EUR. Second study year is calculated by credit points. One credit point is 80 Euros.

-Tuition can be paid by instalment.
