Georgia is a country which is located on the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. It is surrounded by Black sea in the west, Russia in the north, Turkey and Armenia in the south as well as Azerbaijan in south-east. The total area covered by Georgia is 69,700 kms and is inhabited by 5 million people. Georgia has a long list of affordable and low tuition medical universities for international students. It is important to have a good educational record if you intend to pursue medical degree program in Georgia. All interested candidates will be required to go through a special entrance exam, depending on their interest in USMLE or PLAB. Maximum Georgian universities follow the European Union Credit Transfer System, for grading system. Moreover, the students need to be proficient in English language and must have passed their higher secondary studies from a reputed school with four major subjects under their sleeves, like biology, mathematics, physics and chemistry.
For studying MBBS in Georgia, students need to fulfill some basic criteria associated with documentation. At first, they have to submit a transcript from the previous educational institutions along with official GMAT or GRE test scores, which are sent directly from ETS. You also need a copy of your permanent residential card. The students also need to submit their passport size photos and photocopy of class 12 certificates with apostle. Other than that, students also have to submit living certificates of last 2 years with apostle. Other eminent documents are medical certificates, mentioning HIV analyzis and vaccination results.
Geomedi Medical University
This is an acclaimed higher education institute run by the National Georgian Accreditation Centre. The university has been recognized by the World Health Organization.Medical programs run for 6 years and the language medium is english and the tuition fees is $3,500 per year for a six year course in medicine.
Tbilisi Medical Academy
This medical institute was founded by Dmitry and Tbilisi in 1992. The institution runs a 6 year general medicine (MD) . The medical course is taught in English and the tuition fee is $5,000 per year.
David Tvildiani Medical University
Dr David Tvildiani started this medical program in 1993 and it happens to be the first non goverment medical school in Georgia. The medical degree program runs for 6 years and is divided into three stages, namely basic medical science,clinical science and clinical clerkship. International students will be charged $6,000 per year.
