German Dailytaz Workshop on Migration and Development 2017 (completely financed)

The German day by day taz (die tageszeitung) is sorting out a one-week workshop on African-European relations, migration and advancement in Berlin in June 2017. Ten writers from Africa will meet partners from common society, scholastics, legislators and specialists on relocation and improvement.

The program concentrates on German and European migration and African strategy, giving extraordinary thoughtfulness regarding

the “Valletta process” of the EU

the German G20 Presidency with the “G20 Africa Partnership Summit”

the German government’s “Marshall Plan with Africa”. Furthermore: German and European displaced persons arrangement and German provincial history in Africa.

Particularly since the outcast emergency in Germany started in 2015, the EU has been attempting to check unpredictable transient streams from Africa to Europe, building up increased conciliatory contacts and giving billions of euros of subsidizing. Germany is an essential player in this procedure. The expenses for any extra remain in Germany before or after the workshop must be borne by the members themselves.

Qualification

Open to proficient writers working for African media (print, on the web, radio, TV) managing issues of Europe/Africa relations, relocation and improvement. Female writers are particularly urged to apply.
