It might interest you to know that some countries in Europe are operating tuition free education to everybody including international students. What this means is that, if you are studying in any of these countries, you don’t need to border about tuition fees payment. All you have to worry about is the money you will use for your living expenses. So if you don’t have money to pay for tuition fees why not make up your mind to study free today. The countries operating tuition free education are Norway, Germany and Finland. Unfortunately, Finland pulled out leaving only Germany and Norway. So in our article today, we shall be looking at these two countries and a list of some of their schools that are tuition free.
Norway is a Scandinavian country encompassing mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Oslo, the capital, is a city of green spaces and museums. Preserved 9th-century Viking ships are displayed at Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum. The good news for international students is that Norway has made its universities tuition free for all the students irrespective of their nationalities. There are many free universities in Norway e.g. The University of Oslo, University of Stavanger, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), University of Bergen, Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), University of Tromso (UiT), Norwegian Business School, University of Agder (UiA). There are some private schools that are also offering free education .
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Germany is a beautiful European country that came into limelight when it removed the tuition fee from its universities for international students too. Germany currently has some of the best universities in Europe with the good technical and research facilities available. Some of the top German universities are Freie Universitat Berlin, Technische Universitat Berlin, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Humboldt- Universitat zu Berlin and Technical University, Munich.
Austria is a German-speaking country in Central Europe, characterized by mountain villages, baroque architecture, Imperial history and rugged Alpine terrain. Vienna, its Danube River capital, is home to the Schönbrunn and Hofburg palaces. It has counted Mozart, Strauss and Freud among its residents.
Austria do not charge any fee from the EU students and the students from the developing or underdeveloped countries. Tuition fee for most of the African countries’ students is also free. University of Graz, University of Vienna and Leopold-Franzens-Universitat Innsbruck are few of the top Austrian universities for the international students.
These are the only countries operating tuition free education for students around the world. Please note that these schools are not completely free. You will have to budget for living expenses and the embassy will want to see the amount of money in your account before issuing visa. For Germany, a total of 8000 Euro is needed in a blocked account, whereas Norway requires that students have up to 12000 Euro.
