Study in Malta

Admission Requirements

As an international applicant applying to universities in Malta for undergraduate degree, you will be required the documents listed below:

  1. Senior Secondary/High School Leaving Certificate
  2. One year of successfully completed university education
  3. Proof of proficiency in English, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS

For graduate studies, you will have to show:

  1. Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  2. Bachelor’s degree (4 year diploma)
  3. Proof of proficiency in English, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS

Note that the cost of studying per year  is between 6000-9000 Euros for international students

Cost of living

Malta has low and affordable cost of living for international students. It is estimated at € 300 to € 600 per month. However, this amount can vary based on your spending habit.

Application Deadlines

If you are an international student planning to study in Malta for more than 3 months, you must apply for an e-residence document. This document is to replace the old identity card system. The requirements needed are similar to what is got from the visa requirement section below. Note that you can only apply for this after your arrival in the country.

The application deadline for students going for the 1st semester or for the full academic year is usually around June.

Visa requirements

International Students from the EU, US and a few other countries do not require a visa to Malta for less than three months. But If you want to stay for a longer period, you have to consult the Maltese embassy or consulate in your country to find out whether you need a visa.

For students that must have a visa, these are the visa requirements:

  • Completed visa application form
  • Valid travel document (passport)
  • Two passport-size photographs
  • A valid return ticket or certificate of prepaid return journey
  • Proof of access to sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses
  • Letter of acceptance from a Maltese educational institute
  • Proof of accommodation arrangements on arrival
  • Proof of medical insurance for duration of your stay

Tuition fees

The tuition fees in Netherlands are affordable and inepensive when compared to other developed European countries and even the United States. The fees vary based on whether you are a citizen of the European Union or not. That said, the tuition fee in the Netherlands for European Union (EU) students is about €1,950 each year and for international students the tuition fee is about €6,000 and €15,000 (US$6,750 – 16,850). Admission Requirements

There is good news for international students: Many courses (BS degree, Master’s degree and PhD) in Netherlands are offered in English. Which means you will be required to provide TOEFL/IELTS for courses in taught English. Do check  the website of the university you want to study in for specific instructions.

Applying to any university in Netherlands can be carried out in two ways –

directly to the institution or  Studielink, an online centralized application procedure.

How to apply

If you are seeking for admission into a university in Luxembourg, you will have to search through for any university in Luxembourg that runs your preferred program. After this, you only need to login to assess the online student account (which will be created by you). When your account is active, you will get a notification to upload the necessary document required, depending on your level of preferred study. Cost of Living

Cost of living in Luxembourg is relatively high and affordable for international students. It falls in the range of €800 – €1,080 per month. This estimated amount can cost lower or higher since it all depends on the individual spending habit and what we have above is the average living cost for international students. It shall cover cost of feeding, tuition and registration fees. Working during the school holidays or the student contract is allowed, but not more than 40 hours per week.

Proof of English, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS or a documented proof that your first degree was taught in English language can be accepted.

Visa

International students that are not from the EU region and planning to study in Luxembourg must apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of their home country.

They must show the following documents:

A passport valid for at least three months and longer than the validity of the visa.

One application form and two passport size photographs.

Proof of accommodation in Luxembourg.

Show that you have sufficient funds to take care of your expenses during your stay in the country.

Adequate medical insurance

A letter from the college or university confirming that you have been offered admission to study in Luxembourg.
