Inha University was founded by Korea’s first president, Syngman Ree, in 1954. Since its founding, it has excellent programs in a variety of fields, and its strongest areas are science and engineering. Inha University started as Inha Institute of Technology but later changed its name. It is ranked 4th in the nation in the field of engineering which indicates its excellence in those fields.


Inha University has approximately 18,500 undergraduate students, 2,200 graduate students, and 1,800 professors. These students and professors are located in various undergraduate and graduate departments and schools.

The Graduate School of Public Administration has 3 majors in its Master’s program and research courses. Founded in 2000, the Graduate School of Information Technology and Telecommunications offers 1 major in its Master’s program and the expanded and reorganized Graduate School of International Trade and Logistics now has 2 departments with 5 majors.


Inha University is deeply committed to internationalisation. Among other things, it opened Inha University of Tashkent in Uzbekistan, the first overseas South Korean university, in 2014, and is part of the Global U8 Consortium, alongside the University of Hull, the University of Haifa, the Université du Havre and a group of other institutions situated in seaport cities. The Consortium was launched on Inha’s 50th anniversary to promote collaboration and joint research programmes, and has also facilitated student exchanges, guest lectures and conferences.


Undergraduate students are charged the tuition fee of $8,000 a year. Graduate students are charged the tuition fee of $11,000 a year. The tuition fees are high because Inha University is a private institution, and private charge more than public universities. These tuition fees might seem expensive at first, but many scholarships are offered to international students, so it will be lowered.

Applicants from other countries must produce school diploma or an equal qualification to be considered for admission. Students who apply for post-graduate programs must have the needed diploma or degree in line with the desired course of study.

Education Requirements

Applicants for post-graduate programs must have at least 15 years of academics in degree or diploma in addition to the requirements stated above.


Fast Track

Applicants who have a minimum of 15 years academics in a degree or diploma will be checked and placed in Year Two of their chosen course of study. Students with higher qualifications will be given deserving placements.

Diplomas Certificates

Students applying for post-secondary programs must submit Certificate of Higher Secondary with at least 50% on average with general admission requirements.
