2016 University of Sheffield Undergraduate Scholarships for Nigerian Students

shrThe University of Sheffield is now awarding a range of free undergraduate scholarships to Nigerian students studying in Nigeria who demonstrate impeccable academic potential and are/have gained  admission to study at the University of Sheffield come September 2016. For Nigerian  students who wish to study at Sheffield,please note that the University offers a range  Undergraduate academic Scholarships, Nigeria Management Scholarships, Social Science International Scholarships, Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships and Advanced Placement (AP) Merit Undergraduate study abroad Scholarships.

-Faculty Undergraduate Scholarships

The faculty undergraduate scholarship is open to all international students (including Nigerians) who will commence their studies in the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Arts and the School of Law in September 2016 at Sheffield University.    

– Nigeria Management Scholarships 2016

These Management Scholarships are open to Nigerian undergraduate students.

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

  • Applicants should have received an admission invitation to begin undergraduate studies in September 2016 in the Management School.
  • Applicants must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • These scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required in first or subsequent years.
  • The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies. Award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

These scholarships are valued at £2,000 per year..

-Social Science International Scholarships 2016

Sheffield is pleased to offer Social Science Scholarships to Nigerian undergraduate students in any of the following departments: East Asian Studies, Economics, Education, Geography, Information School, Journalism, Politics, Sociological Studies, Town and Regional Planning.

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

  • You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your undergraduate studies in September 2016 in any of the departments listed above.
  • Applicants must be self-funding and termed as international students for tuition fee purposes.
  • These scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required in first or subsequent years.
  • The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies. Award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

The scholarships are worth £2,000 per year each.

-Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2016 (50% tuition fee discount)

A total of two Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships will be available for Nigerian students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2016.

Each scholarship is at 50% off the tuition fee per year of study for all undergraduate programmes except Medicine and Dentistry. Please note that Students studying Medicine and Dentistry will only receive the scholarship for the non-clinical years (Medicine years 1 & 2 and Dentistry year 1). Each scholarships is a tuition fee deduction of 50%.

To be eligible for the Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2016 (50% tuition fee discount), applicants must be self-funding and classed as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes AND be a Nigerian national or permanently domiciled in Nigeria, apply for a study place by Friday 15 April 2016 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2016. The deadline for applications is Friday 22 April 2016, results will be announced by Friday 27 May 2016.

The Nigeria Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2016 (50% tuition fee discount) are awarded on the basis of academic merit.If you wish to be considered for one of these scholarships you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2016 onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarships before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

-Advanced Placement (AP) Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2016 (50% tuition fee discount)

These are scholarships for undergraduate applicants who are doing Advanced Placements (AP).

A total of three scholarships will be available for AP holders starting their undergraduate studies in September 2016.

Each AP scholarship is valued at 50% tuition fee discount of an applicants  undergraduate course tuition fee per year, for up to three years of study. The Advanced Placement scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

To be eligible for these scholarships,applicants must be studying for or have taken Advanced Placements.Also apply for an undergraduate admission by Friday 15 April 2016 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2016.

Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2016 onwards. Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies. Award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark.

The deadline for applications is Friday 22 April 2016; scholarship results will be announced Friday 27 May 2016.
