The Mandela Rhodes Foundation scholarships hopes to produce ethical and solid leadership on the African continent by investing in various educational programmes and, to this end, becoming a leading protagonist in Africa for such endeavours. Thus, the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship shall allow all accepted Scholar to study at one of the best prestigious South African university duly registered with the South African Council on Higher Education for an accredited postgraduate degree programme. The Scholarship will be awarded for one or a maximum of two years, usually for an Honours or Masters degree .
What is the Level: Masters Degree only
Eligible Courses: You are able to study any accredited degree program.
Scholarship Money: The scholarship awarded will cover the entire cost of a Scholar’s education as shown below:
-The tuition and registration fees as set by the institution;
-A study materials allowance as set by the MRF;
-Total cost of accommodation and meal expenses as set by the MRF;
-A medical aid allowance as set by the MRF;
-Economy-class travel allowance for international Scholars only from the Scholar’s home to their institution at the beginning and back home at the end of their degree programme;
The following criteria will be applied in the selection of Mandela Rhodes Scholars:
-The Scholarship is open to citizens of all African countries;
–The Scholarship is for postgraduate programs at licensed South African university or tertiary institution (Honours and Masters degrees only);
-If you fall between the ages of 19 and 30 years at the time of taking up the Scholarship, you are eligible to apply.
-Africans should reflect in their character a powerful commitment to the four principles of Education, Reconciliation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship;
–Applicants should possess a proven track record of excellent above average academic results.
