The New Zealand Development Scholarship was instituted to further build up the economic, social and political ties of The Republic of New Zealand and some selected countries in the International Community(Asia, Africa, Caribbean and Latin America) . Funded by the Ministry of Foreign and Trade under the auspices of The Government, international students have the opportunity to apply and be selected for a full tuition postgraduate certificate( 6 months), Diploma( 1 year), Masters Degree(1yr – 2yrs) and PHD studies (3yrs – 5yrs). As part of the core objective of this scholarship is to assist young achievers, with strong academic potential to pursue top-notch studies and be fully equipped to contribute towards the development of their home nations. Chosen applicants will be hosted in any of the 10 accredited Universities or better still, a partnered institution in the South East Asia. Though diverse subject areas are taught, those selected are required to choose a field of study aligning with the developmental needs of their home country. For instance, subjects like Agriculture Development, Energy management, Risk and Disaster management and Public and Private Sector Development and many more. The deadline for submission of application is April 30, 2016.
The scholarship provides coverage of full cost of fees, a medical and travel insurance, Living allowance(paid every two weeks), & an establishment allowance. You are also granted funds to meet the cost of a return flights tickets, Reunion travel cost (for only a sect of the students), and the cost of thesis for many undergrads.
For an application to qualify for review the selection panel in the first place, it must meet the following requirements;
- The applicant must be of legal age of 18yrs at the start of his/her studies.
- Must be a citizen and domiciled in their home country for two years or above
- Express the willingness to return and utilized their skills and expertise to enhance development of their home countries after completion of their programme, for at least two years.
- Be in a good position to meet the immigration requirements necessary obtain Visa to study at the new zealand.

Better still, submitting your documents to the Admissions Representative in person is highly encouraged. This should be done on or before April 15, 2016.
